A large number of applications are available to employees and students remotely through virtual desktops. In a few cases, the Rowan VPN can be used if needed. A VPN is a virtual private network. A VPN client it is the actual software that is installed on your computer, phone or tablet that is used to access it. Rowan uses the Cisco AnyConnect Client.

 

Some examples of services that require access to the University's Virtual Private Network, or VPN, when off campus, include:

 

To request access to the VPN:

  1. Complete your required Security Awareness Training
  2. Submit a request for VPN access in the IRT Support Portal. 

Faculty, staff and students are eligible to request VPN access. Each request for VPN service is reviewed to ensure the use case justification is appropriate for VPN service access and that the user has completed all required Security Awareness training prior to being approved for VPN service.
