Overview

A synchronization issue between Microsoft and Apple is causing duplicate and mismatched contacts in Microsoft Outlook for some employees and medical students with iOS devices. To prevent this issue, Microsoft recommends all iOS users disable contact synchronization. You can do this by following the steps below.

Solution

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device
  2. In the Apple Settings list, select the Contacts option
  3. Under the Accounts header, select "Exchange" or "Exchange Online"
  4. From the list of currently syncing data, tap the "Contacts" slider to disable native iOS contact sync
  5. When prompted, select the option to "Delete From My iPhone" option
